Cortinarius torvus

Cortinarius subgenus Telamonia is one of the very difficult groups of fungi. Luckily, however, there are some species which are easily recognizable in the field. Cortinarius torvus is associated with Fagus and its very distant gills and prominent, ring-like veil may be of help for its determination. (m.f.)
