Introduction
An exciting journey through the world of flight, within the spectacular frame of vintage airplanes exhibited at the Caproni Museum. Among these wonderful objects, images and models let yourself be carried away by the birds' wings, to understand their extraordinary abilities in an intriguing game of comparisons and analogies with the flying machines. The exhibition, designed by Peter F. Flückiger of the Natural Science Museum in Olten (Switzerland) and built in cooperation with the Natural History Museums of Trento and Bolzano, explores the mechanisms of flying. It starts from the physical principles of aerodynamics, moves among the different biological solutions “invented” by flying animals and ends with suggestive examples of mankind's oldest and most ambitious dream.
