Original diagnosis

Pileus usque 5 cm. diam., leviter depressus, sed umbone parvo centrali instructus, laevis, ceraceo-nitidus, in centro fusco-badius [Bay or Liver Brown], in zonis transitorio splendide fulvo-castaneus [Hay's Russet], et ad marginem cremeo-aurantiacus [between Capucuni Orange and Ochraceous Buff]. Lamellae angustae, usque 3 mm. altae, decurrentes, puniceo-cremeae [Apricot Buff to Light Ochraceous Salmon] sed brunnea ubi contusae. Stipes usque 5 cm. altus, 1.8 cm. latus supra basin fusiformis, cavus, rufo-brunneus [Kaiser Brown], basin versus fuscatus [Bay]. Caro pallide puniceo-cremea [Light Pinkish-cinnamon]. Lac album, dein tarde lutescens, primum mite demum (in copia magna) plus minus acerrimum. Odor non diagnosticus. Cuticula e stratis sequentibus composita: (1) stratum superius, usque 20µ crassum, ex hyphis, 2.5-3.5µ diam., angustis, plus minus horizontalibus et interrextis compositum (2) stratum pseudoparenchymaticum, hypharum e segmentis brevibus irregularibus inflatis haud isodiametricis compositarum. Pleurocystidia 41.6-49.4(-65) x 5-6(-8) µ, fusiformia, hyalina, apicem verus plerumque acuta, muris tenuibus instructa. Basidia 31-44.8 x 8-12 µ, clavata, quadrispora, muris tenuibus instructa. Sporae 6-8 µ diam., plus minus globosae, verrucis sejunctis et aliquot lineis distinctis, amyloideis vel in parte nonamyloideis ornatae.
