Original diagnosis

Pileus carnosus, e convexo expanso-depressus, olivaceus, ad marginem tinctura rosea imbutus, dein totus unicolor, luride olivaceus, subexpallens, 5-8 cm. latus; lamellae e pallido luride lutescentes, postice attenuato-adnexae; stipes medulloso-farctus, ex albido pileo concolor, interdum maculis rubris signatus, 3-6 cm. longus, 1-1½ cm. crassus; caro alba, fracta luride lutea, mitis, primitus inodora, dein odore nauseoso forti ut in typo praedita; sporae luteae, verruculosae, 9-10 × 8-9 µ; basidia clavata, 45-50 × 10-12 µ; cystidia fusoidea, 60-80 × 8-12 µ.
Hab.: in silvis coniferis montanis, aestate-autumno.
Area distr.: Europa.
Obs.: varietas haec a typo facile distinguitur et tantum odore cum typo conjungitur. Russula vero olivascens Fr., si bene iconem et diagnosin considerantur, nullo modo huc pertinet, sed ad Russulam olivaceam Schaeff. Nomen olivascens Zvarae mutavi ne confusionis originem eveniat.
