The Tridentine Museum of Natural Sciences originates from the eclectic collections that, from the XVIII century on, had gradually converged in the Civic Museum of Trento.
Since 1964, the Museum has been a functional institute of the Autonomous Province of Trento.
Today, the Museum is particularly active in the area of science communication and dissemination. It hosts successful temporary exhibits and a number of diverse and lively educational initiatives.
The Museum also dynamically participates in international scientific research, and it owns important and attractive collections and databases on the Alpine Nature.
The Tridentine Museum of Natural Sciences represents the main hub for a regional museums network. Satellite centers and partner institutions are located in sites of high natural and scenic interest.
